Babes In The Wood

A group for children aged 0-18 months based at all four sites in Glossop, Marple & Leek. A meet up for new parents in the woods around the fire! Forest bathe with your baby & let them experience the sensory delights of the woodland. Meet other parents & chat, access support. Relax in hammocks. Craft activities & a mud kitchen for toddling under 18 months. Tea (hot drinks) and toast will be cooked on the campfire for you.

We are trialing a new price plan this half term. It will give the opportunity of a discount to our weekly regulars as well as hoping to help lower the cost for everyone with the incentive to be an early bird and book on each week.

Eleanor, Glossop, 1st time mummy
"Babes in the Wood has been a really significant healthy part of my life as a new mum. I came from when she was about 6 weeks and she’s now 9 months. It’s easy to feel isolated at home with a new baby. My partner works long hours and I don’t have any family locally. This group has become one of my tribes.  Polly creates such a lovely safe laidback space where you can simply come and be, sit and feed your baby or hold them as they sleep and chat to other mums and dads all of whom are on this journey of new parenting.
There’s also opportunities for play and exploration as your baby grows.
The walk there and back is great for boosting my mood and I never regret making the effort to get out to the woods. However ever you feel and whatever the weather there is always shelter, a comfortable place to rest, warm drinks and toast cooked on the fire.
I highly recommend treating yourself to some waterproofs and a sun hat and coming to this wonderful place throughout the year.
As a Forest School practitioner myself I’ve been able to experience the benefits of returning regularly to this wild woodland space with a wonderful group of people and when I feel good,  life is much easier with my baby."

Please note: Refunds are no longer available but you can still transfer your bookings to another date, as long as you transfer up to 3 days before the event that you originally book on to. If it is 3 or less days until your original booking then unfortunately it is too short notice to transfer. We feel that we keep our prices low in comparison to other Forest School companies who charge double and more. We also allow you to transfer your booking if you can’t make a session that week. The admin of refunding bookings would mean we would have to raise our prices in future.
